So I know it’s been a while- There’s been a lot going on… life gets in the way of blogging sometimes! Wanted to post a song that encourages me…

Yesterday at C3 was awesome! We’re still in the series: ‘The Sickness Within” and yesterday Pride was discussed. It definitely hit home to me… I just wrote about how at times I feel like I’ve got a handle on all my problems and I don’t want to bother God with it…. Sometimes I have the thinking of: ‘He’s got enough on His plate, I’ll just deal with this myself.’ And that isn’t trusting God fully… I’m so grateful for being a part of a church that is so real and authentic! I’m also so grateful for ALL the amazing people that make this movement happen every week! Seriously… it takes a lot of dedication and people who truly love Jesus and others… It’s humbling to look around at all the people who sacrifice each week to give of themselves and be a part of what God’s doing here. C3 truly is a family and I love all of these wonderful people!

Yesterday C3 also gave away a ton of backpacks full of school supplies to students in need! Amazing… This is truly what church is all about- reaching out and helping the community around you!

I got to meet tons of new students yesterday! I am pumped for our fall schedule of 413 (Our high school student community!) It’s gonna be a blast :) I hope all our students had a great first day back at school… Speaking of this… my sister started middle school today! She went from being in a small private school for all of elementary to a big public middle school… I’m hoping she has a really good day. I don’t think she’s too nervous but I sure am :)

Ok I think that’s all for now… I have like 682 loads of laundry to do that have been piling up… maybe a little bit of an exaggeration but still- it’s a lot :)

This verse has been in my head for a few days… I am so grateful for this. It’s amazing to me that we can rest fully in Jesus- we can go to him when we’ve had enough, we’re exhausted- and he will take our burden and give us rest. Maybe it’s just me, but sometimes I find it so hard to not try to carry the “burden” myself….whatever it may be. Most of the time I feel like God’s got such bigger problems to deal with and in comparison to some, mine are so small. It’s almost like I think He can’t handle all the problems- so I think I’ll just take care of mine, myself… Wow is that wrong! It’s amazing how when I truly let Him carry the burden it gets so much lighter than it was… It definitely doesn’t mean we still won’t be weary… or that we’ll forget about those burdens… but I know for me, I can rest in the fact that Jesus has it- He’s got it under control and eventually it’ll all work out for His good!

Of course a little disclaimer… that thought process is always hard for me to reach! Whenever things happen I always go through days where I totally forget that Jesus has it- I go back to that “I’ve got to take care of this myself” mentality… Which only causes anxiety and stress for myself- and a definite lack of rest!

I’m so thankful for His love for us!

I love C3 Sundays! We missed last week because we were in Chicago so I was really looking forward to it this weekend :) Barry’s message about anger was awesome- He reminded us that anger isn’t a sin but it’s how you react when that anger hits. I never thought of it that way… I can definitely get angry! :) I sometimes have a little bit of a short fuse… this morning was a great reminder for me that I need to THINK about what I say and make sure I’m quick to listen and slow to speak. Also, the band rocked this morning! I love How He loves Us! It’s one of my fave songs :)

I’m still going to post more pictures- tomorrow though!  I haven’t been feeling too well the past couple days. I’ve had some killer allergy/sinus problems! …the joys of living in FL! I’m definitely starting to feel better though….I’ll be even better when I get my Sunday afternoon nap :) Also- so excited because there’s actually a football game on TV tonight! LOVE football season… Matt and I have been waiting for it to finally start up again! I can’t wait for the Colt’s first regular season game and definitely for FSU’s first game…we’re hoping for both teams to do better this year :)

Anyway- nap is calling my name!

We’re back home from our vacation in Chicago! We had a blast! Neither of us had ever been there…I have to say it was one of my favorite cities. I also finished my first half marathon there! :) I was definitely in pain afterwards but I can’t wait to do another one :)

We were super busy the whole trip and of course I took almost 300 pictures- no joke! Of course I won’t post them all but here are a few.

The pictures don’t do the city justice- it was so beautiful! I have so many more pics- I’ll post more tomorrow or the next day! Also, I stepped on the ledge thing at the Sears Tower, too… for literally 2 seconds! I was terrified!! :) It wasn’t quite long enough for a photo op :) Matt wouldn’t have been able to take it anyway because I was gripping his hand with the jaws of life!! :)

Anyway, more tomorrow :)

This weekend was awesome! We spent time with Kayleigh & Barry laying out by the pool….I love sunshine! :) We actually did more swimming in the pool rather than laying out… it’s too darn hot for that! Love spending time with great friends and laughing… a lot! :)

Sunday was amazing- I know I say that every week but seriously! It was incredible. We’re still in the “tweet this” series and this weeks tweet was: When you’re afraid run, but run to don’t run from.

I know it’s simple but it’s so profound at the same time. Fear is something that can take control of us and change our lives if we let it. It can keep us from enjoying the life God has for us. It’s something I let control me at times… without even knowing it. Not anymore, I refuse to let it do that to me. I will run… not away from my fears but right to them. I will be a lion chaser just like Benaiah.

C3 also announced Sunday that they will be partnering with Feed the Children and giving away 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in need! SO AWESOME! I can’t imagine how many children have to go to school without the things they need… and now 500 of them who wouldn’t have had their supplies, will! I love this and love that C3 reaches out to help the community! So incredible…

We leave this week for Chicago! So excited about our vacation and I’m trying to be excited about the half marathon I’m running while we’re there. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to put all this training to use… but I’m definitely nervous. There’s that fear of something going wrong or failing… who wants to fail?! I guess this is a lion I will chase… literally! I definitely won’t let my fear get the best of me! I will have lots of pictures for sure :)

I will hopefully pack sometime soon… I have this tendency to wait until the last minute and do things like blogging to put off what I need to be doing…

I guess I better go… :)
