My Oh My….

Okay so I’ve been a little bit of a slacker with my blog lately :) I’m trying to get better… life just gets in the way!

Here’s a little recap of what we’ve been up to lately. I hope that next week I can start back to blogging more regularly!

We went on a little mini vacation last week- we were in Miami until Thursday. It was a blast… I have tons of pictures (of course) and I’ll try to post those tomorrow! We spent time with some family that was down there for a couple days and then we had some good time to ourselves for a couple days. We hit up a couple beaches and the zoo :) I love vacations with Matt… he’s the best and I could literally travel all the time with him! I’m so grateful for him and our marriage.. :) Love you babe!

I’ve finally got back into my workout routine… being sick for a week and then vacation got me all messed up! I’m hoping to run a half-marathon in June…that’s what I’m training for anyway. And then if possible a triathlon in July! I know it’s possible to do both… but 13.1 miles just seems SO far!! I have to wish Jenni Catron good luck this week in her half-marathon!

C3 has been incredible as always! The new series started Sunday- So You Dead, Now What. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the series!

After last Sunday we had our flag football championship. We won the first game to get us in the championship, but we lost the 2nd. We had a few guys injured and everyone was exhausted! It was a fun season though :)

We had 413 at our house this past Wednesday… I love hanging with the students. They are so awesome… It’s great getting to chat with my high school girls about everything going on in their lives. I’m thankful for them and how real they are!

I’ve also been busy watching Jackson for the Leathers a couple days a week. He’s one funny and cute kid! He’s always sayin’ the most random, hilarious stuff. Yesterday I told him it was Kayleigh’s birthday. He responded with cake? and then proceeded to ask if we were going to a birthday party… :) When I told him no he made a sad face! Seriously… he’s too cute!

Speaking of… Yesterday was Kayleigh’s birthday!! I am so thankful for having such a great friend- I hope you had the greatest birthday, Kayleigh!!

So see… I’ve been busy! :) There’s so much more I could say…but that’s all for now!

I will become a better blogger from now on though…. promise! :)

I hope everyone has a happy Friday!

Wednesday Ramblings!

It’s been a busy Wednesday! I watched Jackson this morning/afternoon…that kid seriously cracks me up. My favorite is when he says: “Hola Chica” Matt taught him to say that…what’s great is that he always says it to Matt!! …love it!

I went for a 3 mile run today…it’s getting easier and easier to run that! I never thought I would find myself saying that I love running…but now I am. I actually miss it on my off days…crazy!

So, I’ve got the exercise part down pat- I exercise 6 days a week and love it…now if I could just love eating healthy that much! :) We definitely eat healthy when we eat at home…it’s the eating out that gets me. What can I say….I can’t resist me some yummy Tijuana Flats! :)

Anyway

Time to get ready for Crave… I love these students! They are seriously the best. We’ll be multiplying soon, so that middle school and high school will each have their own thing… I can’t wait- I think it’s gonna rock! If you think of it- pray for the change. :)

Hope everyone has a happy Wednesday!

P.S. – Check this out- people are so funny :)

Incredible…

…is the only word I can use to describe Crave last night! I love our students…last night was unique…Kayleigh, Katie, and myself actually told stories of mistakes we’ve made in the past and what we’ve learned from them..I think the students enjoyed our stories and more importantly I think they saw themselves in some of us. The amazing thing is that so many of these girls are close to making big mistakes…I can only hope that hearing from us will stop them and make them think about the choices they make.

We have such an amazing God…It’s incredible to me how He uses the bad things/choices we’ve made in our lives to help others. I had so many girls talk to me about how they can relate  to one or more of our stories…It was awesome for them to be able to see we actually did go through some of the things they go through…we’re not just old people who don’t get it :) …of course my girls don’t think I’m old…actually, one of my girls called me ma’am last night…. my response was: “Ma’am?! Oh you don’t have to call me ma’am…I’m not that old yet!!” :)

Anyway…

I’m so thankful for these students and how God is working in their lives…He is incredible and I know none of the awesome things I see happen at Crave would be possible without Him!

Love Wins

Lovin’ Crave!

We had Crave tonight…(C3’s student community) and it rocked :) I love hanging with the students and I love small group time. We talked about dating this week and since I lead the high school girls, you can bet they had some stuff to say! I have to say though- it was so awesome to see these girls get it and to see them helping each other out. We all go through so many different things and these girls go through some tough stuff… it’s incredible when they can use that to help the other girls. They truly open up to each other and love each other! I love getting to see them grow more and more in Christ- I remember when I started with the group a couple years ago…some of the girls are still here but it’s mostly a new group- back then it was such a surface level group and now it’s grown to an authentic community.

I think I learn more from them than they could ever imagine! I absolutely love being a part of this- they all rock :)

So last night we had our first high school only Crave out. It was awesome! I think the high schoolers are lovin’ their independence from the middle schoolers a little too much :) No, but really- It was awesome to be able to connect and hangout with them…and of course get beat by them in bowling- I stink!

I absolutely love C3’s student ministry- maybe I’m a little biased, but I think it’s the greatest there is!! We have some awesome students who truly love God and are trying to reach their schools for Christ. They are also struggling… we’ve got some students who are going through some rough stuff… stuff no one should have to go through, much less a teenager. If you think of it- please pray for them :)

Today has been a blur- I’ve gone from one thing to the next… but right now… we’re about to watch The Office! :) I love it! So… that’s all for now ;) can’t cut into my Office time anymore!

C3 Sunday

It was another great Sunday at C3 :) Mosaic continued and it was amazing! But first, I have to update everyone: Our adopted family that I wrote about here, was about to be evicted from their house…  two families (who have asked to remain nameless) actually gave them the money for their rent. They were so incredibly grateful to be able to now stay in their home! They also got a chance to come to C3 today :) Thanks for all your prayers for them over the past month or so.

It’s been an awesome Sunday- I love meeting all the new people at C3 each Sunday. I met a couple that are excited about getting involved in community groups! I also love chatting with all the students each Sunday. My heart is heavy for some of our students. They really go through so much- please remember to keep them in your prayers! C3’s students are awesome… it’s just crazy to hear about some of the circumstances they have to endure and the things they experience at such a young age. It’s definitely changed from when I was in high school…and that was that long ago :) Of course despite all this “stuff” they deal with- they are such great examples of what it means to live for Christ. I see them each week trying to make sure they’re making the right choices and living their lives for Christ the best they know how. It’s awesome to be able to hang with them and see them grow each week! I definitely look forward to Wednesdays when we have Crave!

I love C3 Sundays…they are so refreshing and re energizing!
